Elimination rounds of Indonesia Fire Fighting Robot Contest (KRPAI) for Wheeled Division were accomplished earlier than other contest categories. Three elimination rounds took only three hours and were faster than what the committee had predicted. Joining the KRPAI for Wheeled Division were 25 teams from universities in Indonesia.

“KRPAI for Wheeled Division had done three elimination rounds since the robots had the higher velocity than previously,” told Heru Santoso, Chief of Judges of KRPAI for Wheeled Division.

In fact, the team got three minutes for a match. However, many things occurred beyond the prediction of robot velocity so that a match only tool two minutes.

Various violations ensued in the contest as moving a doll or accessories in the corridor. “Besides, many robots could fight the fire but is did not count because the robots did not enter entirely to the room,” Heru continued. There was also a team disqualified since they touched the robot during the match.

A team getting perfect score was Beater 2.3 from Univesitas Islam Aguung. The team won over Altamis from University of Brawijaya with the perfect point, 25. “Alhamdullilah, we are glad of the result,” said Faizal Aminuddin Aziz, chief of Beater 2.3 on Saturday (13/) after the match.

The obstacles the team confronted was lighting during the match. “The problem is only on the lighting. It is very dark. Fortunately, the lighting of this building is adequate so that the robot could perform well,” Faizal asserted.

The result was due to their endeavor endlessly. “We exercised every day. If the robot got error, we attempted to change the sparepart so that it could optimize the robot’s performance,” inserted Faizal. Beater 2.3 has joined national level of KRI twice and the team expected to be the winner of KPRAI for Wheeled Division and represent Indonesia in international robot contest in Connecticut, the United States.
