ABU Asia-Pacific Robocon 2015 will be conducted on 23 August 2015 at Sportorium of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY), and arenas of the contest have been arranged in accordance with international badminton standards.
A coordinator of the arena equipment Bagus Soebandono, S.T., M.Eng. in an interview on Thursday (20/8) informed that his team is working on the last arrangement of the ABU Robocon arenas. They have been set in line with international badminton robot game standards and requirements of judges from Japan, China, Thailand, and Indonesia. “The ABU Robocon arenas are technically the same as a common badminton arena, yet the materials and sizes are based on international badminton arena standards,” he inserted.
Bagus continued that the arenas are not distinct from the arena of Indonesia Robot Contest (KRI) organized at UMY on June 2015. “We do not confront any difficulties in preparing the arenas since it is essentially similar to the preparation of KRI. However, in this contest, we ought to arrange two arenas, for running test on Saturday (22/8) and for the game on Sunday (23/8). Both arenas have equal standards,” he mentioned.
Furthermore, 19 participants of 18 countries will be divided into several groups and they will be scheduled in dissimilar time to have the running test. “The judges have regulated details of the running test, and we will always be ready whenever the participants will employ the arena to trial their robots,” he asserted.
