Profession Certification Institute of UMY Undergoes BNSP Witness

The Professional Certification Institute (LSP) of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) underwent a witnessing process as the finale to a series of activities to obtain a license from the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP). The chairman of BNSP, Kunjung Masehat visited the UMY central campus to lead the BNSP team in carrying out the witness process.

“LSP has an important role to carry out professional certification as an extension of BNSP, so there needs to be a witnessing process to get a license, after undergoing several previous processes,” explained Kunjung in a speech in front of the Rector of UMY and thirty UMY structural officials, Friday (23 / 10). Kunjung added that tertiary institutions need to prepare students to have competency certifications as a companion to their diploma.

“BNSP was formed based on the Manpower Act and functions as a body of certification, so that the certificates of competence obtained by students when they are about to graduate can help them find work,” he added.

In the assessment process, Kunjung Masehat, who was accompanied by Mohammad Ali Sodiqin, carried out the witnessing process in seven Competency Test Points (TUK) which became the competency test sites for the seven schemes proposed by LSP UMY.  A competency test assessment was carried out in seven new schemes of UMY LSP.

Meanwhile, UMY Rector Dr. Gunawan Budiyanto stated that UMY continues to strive to provide the best service to students, one of which is the establishment of LSP UMY. “We at UMY will continue to obey all government regulations in the process of establishing LSP and hope that in the future more schemes can be submitted to BSNP,” he concluded.
