Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) broke a record at the Indonesian Museums of Records (MURI) for being the greatest access to a capital market application by the AKSes managed by PT Kustpdian Sentral Efek Indonesia (KSEI). The record breaking was carried out at the Youth Vest Day at Sportorium of UMY on Wednesday (7/11). It was conducted by Faculty of Economics and Business of UMY, KSEI, PT Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI), and PR First Asia Capital Sekuritas (FAC).
“3,000 students become young investors,” stated Rector of UMY Dr. Ir. Gunawan Budiyanto, M.P. He said that the record breaking was a concrete action of UMY for Indonesia. To break the record took two months and was entailed to raise awareness of investment and capital markets as earlier as possible.
Besides, Director of KSEI Syarifudin as the main sponsor of the Youth Vest Day expected that the AKSes app, a protection for investors established since 2009, could be utilized well by the young investors. “This event is a positive momentum. Through this event, it is hoped that a notion of being young investors should be instilled since early stage so that they are not only smart but also consistent with a capital market on the AKSes app,” he declared.
“I wish that other Indonesian universities can emulate UMY since capital markets are economic boosters of Indonesia. Besides, I hope that this evening is not only a celebration, but also young investors should continue what we did tonight,” said Ayarifudin.
Ariyani Siregar S.E. as a manager for Semarang branch handed over the MURI record to Director of KSEI Syarifudin. The Youth Vest Day was also enlivened by Rizky Febian and an Indonesian group, Letto.
