Students of Master of Nursing of UMY Join a Student Exchange of Batch 7

Students of Master of Nursing of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta will carry out a student exchange in four institutions, namely International Islamic University Malaysia, Khon Khaen University of Thailand, Guanxi Medical University China, and Changhua Christian Hospital.

In his remark, Head of Master of Nursing of UMY Fitri Arofiati, S.Kep., Ns., MAN., Ph.D.  expressed his gratitude due to the implementation of the program. “Alhamdulillah, batch 7 of this exchange program can be conducted and we are preparing for batch 8,” declared Firtri on Saturday (30/9) at room 301 of Kasman Singodimejo of Graduate School of UMY. The exchange program was a follow up of the previous program organized by Master of Nursing of UMY.

She informed that the Philippines was not included in target countries of the exchange program. “The Philippines will begin one of the target countries again next year,” she said.

Meanwhile, Director of Graduate Programme of UMY Sri Atmaja P. Rosyidi, ST., MSc.Eng., Ph.D., PE stated that knowledge of students of Master of Nursing should higher than undergraduate students’. “Master students are demanded to be knowledgeable that they view everything critically and can solve problems without emotion,” he emphasized.

The student mobility, indeed, provided merits for the students to broaden their horizon. “Competition nowadays occurs both nationally and internationally. If we do not meet foreign students whose backgrounds are different from ours, our knowledge will be insufficient,” asserted Sri. In the end of his speech, Sri advised the students to always take the good, and to leave the bad.

In addition, the student departure ceremony was also attended by Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Dr. Ir. Sukamta, MT., IPM. He told the students to spend their time wisely and do everything sincerely without any burden. “To maintain the good name of this university, the students should perform the program well so that they can also share their knowledge to others,” he ended.
