LP3M UMY Assisted with the Selection of Village Officials of Donoharjo Sleman Village with Proper Health Protocols

The Village Pamong (Official) Selection Program is one of the services carried out by Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) and its Institute for Research, Publication, Publishing and Community Service (LP3M) to select prospective village officials according to regional regulations to produce leaders with capable capabilities. This selection of village officials was carried out to select candidates for village officials in Donoharjo Village, Ngaglik District, Sleman which was held on Wednesday (23/9) at the KH Ibrahim Building, UMY Central Campus, while carrying out health protocols.

As stated by Dr. Ir. Gatot Supangkat, M.P., IPM, Head of LP3M UMY, this village official selection program is a form of community service so that the selection of village apparatus becomes more objective. The purpose of this activity is to make the selection as objectively as possible with a good process.

“The purpose of this selection is so that villages can get capable personnel because this selection is carried out in accordance with district regional regulations. A candidate is selected based on knowledge seen from the knowledge of Pancasila, the Basics of Law, and the government system. In addition, it also relates to local knowledge, namely how to become village officials, and technical skills, namely computer practice, Javanese speech, and the interview stage where the most hopeful of candidates will be appointed, “he explained.

Head of Community Service Division of UMY LP3M, Dr. Adhianty Nurjanah, S.Sos., M.Sc., Added that this village civil service selection is a form of community service by UMY to improve the quality of human resources and regional development as well as expanding the cooperation network, especially between the Village Government of Donoharjo and LP3M UMY.

Adhianty admitted that LP3M UMY had prepared a detailed selection process, starting from the pre-selection to the time of the selection. “There were 3 people that helped with the selection process, namely the head of the hamlet, technical head of services, and technical head of welfare. In addition, this implementation also uses health protocols, such as disinfecting the room before the selection process, applying temperature checks, providing a handsanitizer, applying social distancing, and using faceshields and masks for each participant and selection officer,” she concluded.
