KKI UMY Graduates Created Anti-Mainstream Platform for Hard Laborers

In the midst of the digital era, the various types of digital business platforms are developing rapidly. With their boundless innovations and creativity, Indonesian youths also do not want to be left behind and created their own platforms. One of those youths is Surya Mahardika, a graduate of the Islamic Communication and Counseling study program of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta.

Through the Betukang.id platform, he responded to the problems found by the people, especially in his native area of Pontianak, where he felt that it was very difficult to get the services of a handyman. To that end, Surya created a platform that facilitated the builders to market their services on social media such as Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.

Surya admits that the digital business is currently undergoing rapid growth. According to him, if he does not take part and participate in it, he will be left behind. “Digital business is very promising. My advice for young people is to get out of their comfort zone and use your creativity and insight to develop and become a digital business, “said the Betukang.id Co-Founder & CMO again.

In addition to providing handyman services, the platform, which was established in December 2019, also provides car rental services and survey services. since its establishment, Surya revealed that Betukang.id already has 32 workers, 24 jobs, and has received more than 100 job calls. “I hope this platform can become a marketplace providing quality craftsman services and bring good impact to the community,” Surya added.

Betukang.id’s digital platform is the first online handyman service in Pontianak. In the future, Betukang.id will also launch websites and applications as start-ups do in general. (ays)
