Most of students are eager to pursue their study abroad. One of the South Korean universities, Kyungdong University (KDU) offers scholarship to students of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY).
In Kyungdong University scholarship offering on Monday (18/4) at stadium general of Engineering faculty, President Global Campus of Kyungdong University, John Lee stated that being a student is a valuable moment to enhance their ability and experience.
“Four years are our golden age since they should be responsible for gaining marvelous occasions, and the university has to assist and be chargeable for the students’ occasions,” John Lee declared.
He argued that studying at university is precious time because students’ knowledge will benefit not only themselves but also other people. He advised the participants to utilize the opportunities well like studying overseas and having an internship.
“Many students in South Korea undertake internships in the weekend. Being a student means being a hard worker since nothing can be achieved easily. The efforts we do will determine our life,” John Lee ended.
Besides, KDU Manager to Indonesia, Marry Kurniawati mentioned two type of the scholarship. “The first scholarship is studying the Korean language for three months at KDU. The scholarship is fully funded, and after three months they are allowed to have part-time job that KDU will help to look for the workplace,” Marry told. She also said that students should accommodate their airfare and living allowance.
“The other scholarship is double degree scholarship for students with the same major at KDU,” Marry inserted. Students from partner universities of KDU signing MoU will obtain scholarship accounted 50% of tuition fee. For students having GPA more than 3.4, the scholarship will be added 20%.
Marry confirmed that the double degree should be accomplished for two years at the origin university and two years at KDU. “After graduating, students will achieve two degree certificates, one from UMY and the other from KDU. The KDU will also help the students to get a job in an institution such as LG and Samsung in either Korea or Indonesia,” Maarry ended.
