IGOV of UMY Welcomes a Visit of University of Bradford

The International Program of Government Affairs and Administration (IGOV) of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) welcomed a visit of University of Bradford, the United Kingdom (UK) at meeting hall of Graduate School of UMY, Floor 1, on Tuesday (9/5). The visit aimed at motivating graduates of the IGOV of UMY to pursue their master degree in the UK.

An IGOV lecturer as well as the person in charge of the visit Rijal Ramdani, S.IP., MPA stated, “We expect that IGOV graduates can study overseas and University of Bradford can be the destination.”

Besides, there was a public lecture attended by undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as Governmental Study lecturers. The speakers of the public lecture were was Senior International Recruitment Officer for Southeast Asia regions Carly Balmforth and regional office of Middle East. “This event also enables Governmental Study lecturers to conduct joint research,” told Rijal.

Rijal also wished that students of UMY, particularly IGOV students, could gain benefits from the event. “Students who are interested in continue their study at University of Bradford can prepare themselves. Through this event, they will get information of student admission, facilities, and living allowance,” he said.

Meanwhile, Carly Bramforth informed that Indonesian students should not worry because University of Bradford is a multicultural university in the UK. “At University of Bradford, students are from various social, educational, and cultural backgrounds,” she asserted.

He also emphasized that Indonesian Indonesia students may not worry about food. “80% of Bradford restaurants sell halal food. We also accept all religions without differentiating them,” maintained Carly.
