Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) granted award to five figures of Muhammadiyah, namely H. Moeljoto Djojomartono, Drs. H. Mustafa Kamal Pasha, Brigjen. TNI (Purn) Drs. Bakri Syahid, Ir. H.M. Dasron Hamid, M.Sc, and Drs. Alfian Darmawan in the 3rd UMY Award. Those five Muhammadiyah figures had high dedication to the establishment and development of UMY.
The UMY Award aimed at giving acknowledgment, honor, and appreciation of their achievement, services, and dedication to various activities supporting four principles of higher education (Catur Dharma Perguruan Tinggi). The award was an appreciation of their remarkable dedication to UMY, Muhammadiyah, and this nation.
Senate Chairman of UMY Prof. Dr. H. Moh. Anwar, M. Med., Sc., Sp.OG(K) delivered a remark in the 34th Anniversary of UMY. The UMY Award is UMY’s appreciation for the figures who contributed to any fields. “They dedicated their life to sciences, technology, social, and religion so that they deserve to get this UMY Award,” he stated.
Rewarding the 3rd UMY Award, Prof. Anwar continued, to the five figures was written on Surat Keputusan Senat UMY No. 022/SK/K.IV-SU/2015 on Acknowledgment of UMY Award 2015. “They were H. Moeljoto Djojomartono, Drs. H. Mustafa Kamal Pasha, Brigjen. TNI (Purn) Drs. Bakri Syahid, Ir. H.M. Dasron Hamid, M.Sc, and Drs. Alfian Darmawan,” he mentioned.
Senate Secretary of UMY Ahdiana Yuni Lestari, S.H. M.Hum. inserted that the award decision based on several appraisal processes. “There were several steps to receive and select the recommendations of UMY Award. First, the judges checked document completeness of prospective people to achieve UMY Award. Second, the proposals passing the first step and verification were sent to the university senate. Then, they considered, selected, and decided who deserved to achieve UMY Award,” she added.
The UMY Award was given over by Dikti Chairman of PP Muhammadiyah, Head of Daily Advisor Board (BPH) of UMY, Senate Chairman of UMY, Rector of UMY, and Chief of Judges of UMY Award.
