Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) once again won an achievement at the end of July 2020. Webometrics Ranking Web of Universities ranked UMY as the 11th best university in the national rankings, thus making UMY the best private university (PTS) in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) and Central Java, and the second-best private university, after Telkom University.
Webometric is an initiative to promote and open access to scientific publications to increase academic presence and research institutions on the website. This ranking is based on data available on the college website, such as the number of web pages, the number of links shared, and the number of articles and journals owned by lecturers.
Head of the Information Systems Bureau, Dr. Wahyudi, ST, MT., Revealed that this achievement was not only about website traffic but also about the productivity of articles both nationally and internationally. “UMY is a university that has a good reputation. All components needed for assessment on this webometric were met with a high enough score,” he added.
Wahyudi added that the online lectures that had been running since March had a 30 percent influence on the achievements of UMY. In addition, this is an indication that the information and scientific journals obtained from the UMY website are reliable and can be justified. “Hopefully, in the future, we can maintain and even increase the ability of our IT to manage the UMY website,” he added.
