UMY Communication Science Lecturer Releases Bola Kita Book as a Birthday Gift for PSSI,

To commemorate the anniversary of Persatuan Sepak Bola Seluruh Indonesia (PSSI) on April 19, UMY Communication Studies Lecturer, Dr. Fajar Junaedi released his latest book entitled “Bola Kita” on Sunday (19/4). The book, which was written jointly with Jawa Pos senior sports journalist, Miftakhul F.S, discusses three sections namely the political economy of football, soccer and fans, as well as soccer, media and humanity.

The Province head of the Yogyakarta PSSI (PSSI DIY), Ahmad Syauqi Soeratno welcomed the publication of this book. “The first writer is a lecturer, while the second writer is a journalist. Even so, there is a common thread that links the two, namely they are sincere Indonesian soccer lovers, “explained Syauqi when contacted on Tuesday (21/4).

Syauqi also gave an introduction in the book, explaining about the figures of the UMY Communication Studies Lecturer and senior sports journalist. “Both of them are not just lecturers and journalists, but football fans who come to the stadium stands,” he added.

Separately, Fajar Junaedi said that although the essays contained in this book came from different years, they are all connected. “This book discusses everything, starting from the issue of club funding that must be independent and professional when it initially depended on the Regional Budget (APBD), the literacy of football supporters and the media, as well as the human side of football,” he said when contacted Monday (20 / 4).

Fajar Junaedi is known as a lecturer that is productive in publications about Indonesian soccer. Previously, he also wrote Merayakan Sepak bola 1 and 2, contributed articles in the Merawat Sepak Bola Indonesia; Sepak Bola 2.0; Kota, Klub and Pasoepati book; and the foreword in the book Struggle for Soccer in Indonesia. The Bola Kita book was intentionally released on April 19, to coincide with the anniversary of PSSI, which was founded in 1930.
