  • To plan and arrange strategies and policies on organization quality enhancement and quality assurance of the university;
  • To design and formulate a vision, missions, objectives, targets, and strategic plans to achieve goals of UMY;
  • To design, formulate, and contrive statues with a mandated team as well as propose a draft of the statutes to Board of Trustees;
  • To plan and arrange Development Master Plans with a mandated team as well as propose a draft of the Development Master Plans to Board of Trustees once ten years;
  • To formulate and design strategic plans with a mandated team once five years as well as assign the plans with the university senate;
  • To design and manage university business strategies comprising of academic affairs, human resource management, financial and asset management, student affairs, alumni affairs, Islamic and Muhammadiyah studies, internationalization, organization, and quality assurance;
  • To formulate and enact operational plans of units each year;
  • To plan organization governance and working procedures;
  • To direct implementation of Islamic and Muhammadiyah teaching;
  • To monitor all organization activities;
  • To oversee quality assurance systems;
  • To supervise university planning and development;
  • To make an annual accountability report and a final report at the end of the rector’s leadership;
  • To accompany a new rector for one-month transitional period after the candidate is elected.
