“Strong Alumni, Healthy Campus” is the slogan used by the Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta Regional Alumni Administration Board of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (KAUMY DIY) who just appointed new administrators for the 2020-2024 period on Saturday (29/08). The event which was held at the Amphitheater of the AR Fachruddin A UMY Building was conducted offline (outside the network) and online (in the network) using the zoom platform.

Chairman-elect of the 2020-2024 KAUMY DIY Regional Management, Muhammad Rifandi, explained in his speech that the slogan is a symbol that alumni are a reflection of the campus. According to him, alumni activities are very important for the image of the campus. Wherever the alumni are and whatever is done, the name of the alma mater will always be carried. “Talking about alumni means not only talking about KAUMY but about all alumni, therefore we, as regional administrators, will try to unite the strengths between alumni to become bigger. For the next four years, let’s run KAUMY as a family, “he said.

The inauguration ceremony and the following work meeting was attended by Faris Al-Adhat, Ph.D., Head of the UMY Student and Alumni Development Institute (LPKA), Guntoro, Chairperson of PP KAUMY, and Hammam Muttaqin, Chair of the previous KAUMY UMY Regional Management who was present online.

Faris Al-Adhat, Ph.D., Head of the UMY Student and Alumni Development Institute (LPKA) stated that strengthening the alumni forum is an important thing, especially since UMY is a university that is still relatively young. “We hope that KAUMY can continue to be a family organization that strengthens the network. Even if the programs that are designed are sometimes not fully implemented, at least this forum can be a place for friendship,” he added. (ays)
