KRI (Indonesia Robot Contest) 2018 which is conducted at Sportorium University of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) is followed by 91 teams from various higher education institutions in Indonesia. One of the teams is from Politeknik Manufaktur Negeri (POLMAN) Bandung, West Java. This team will compete in ABU Indonesia Robot Contest (KRAI) with the theme “Lempar Bola Berkah“.

KRI 2018 is the second opportunity for POLMAN team to participate in the national robot contest after 8 years of a vacuum. “The last time our team taking part in the national competition was in 2008. After that, we had a vacuum yet remained active in the regional competitions. On that occasion, we won KRI 2018 in a regional level as the 3rd winner so that we can participate in this national level,” mentioned Aldi Sugiarto as one of the team members.

Ainal Ghufron, the other member stated that KANAYAKAN 21, their robot is ready to compete with other robots at the KRAI. “Our robot, KANAYAKAN 21, has a feature which enables it to move conventionally forward and backward. This robot is also equipped with a grappler function to hold the ball and toss them. KANAYAKAN 21 is also capable of spinning to ease manoeuvring. Therefore, we are ready for the match and we will try to win this the national contest,” he stated.
