In order to increase the bonds between their members, the Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta Postgraduate Program hosted a Family Gathering and Reflection Session in the Postgraduate Building Yard. This event was attended by structural officials, lecturers, staff members, and educators, including those who have graduated from UMY, on Friday (29/11) night. This event was also hosted to celebrate the Postgraduate Program’s 22nd Anniversary, despite the actual anniversary taking place on last August.

Since it’s inception in 1997, the UMY Postgraduate Program has been managed by eight different directors and is currently being led by Ir. Sri Atmaja P. Rosyidi, ST., MSc.Eng., Ph.D., PE. The Postgraduate Program also has seven Graduate programs and three Postgraduate programs.

Sri Atmaja likened the UMY Postgraduate Program to an ark filled with important elements to achieve shared goals. “The purpose of this event is to be a joint gathering event, and the Postgraduate Program is like an ark that we row together, which we direct together, towards aspirations of prosperity, success and good deeds. We all play a role, from the directors, the office workers, and even the security guards. We all play an important role in the journey of the UMY Postgraduate ark for over 22 years. ”

Sri Atmaja emphasized that this bond must continue to advance the UMY Postgraduate Program. However, there is no doubt that the dynamics of postgraduate is extraordinary, and that the position switching of structural officials, staff, lecturers, and employees is very dynamic. “This shows the need for Postgraduate to be more dynamic in the future because we will have heavier tasks and responsibilities. University Leaders also emphasized the need for Postgraduate to provide benefits not only financially but also in the form of excellence with each study needing A-level Accreditation” he added.

The UMY Postgraduate Programs’ struggle in the future will be even tougher, for they aspire to be one of the best Postgraduate programs in Southeast Asia in accordance with their vision. “We can achieve success by working together, working hand in hand, working hard, working smart, and working sincerely. We hope that together with the Postgraduate Program, we can become the face of the Muhammadiyah association, going forward as a gateway to achieving new, critical and constructive thoughts in order to achieve the best national and global rankings,” Sri Atmaja concluded.
