Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) won another MURI Record by holding an international webinar on the largest number of scientific disciplines. The conference, which was attended by approximately 1373 participants from 8 countries, is the 4th ICoSI (International Conference on Sustainable Innovation) 2020 which was held on the 13th. -14 October 2020. ICoSI is an annual event for Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta which has held it since 2012 and this year UMY remains committed to holding it even though the world is still in the middle of a pandemic by holding simultaneous online international conferences.

Dr. Yeni Rosilawati, S.IP., SE, MM, chairman of the organizing committee for the 4th ICoSI 2020 in her speech said that there were 14 focus conferences from various fields of scientific disciplines which were held simultaneously online and participated by 8 participating countries. ” This year, the ICOSI was held in a special way since we first held the conference, namely utilizing a digital platform in its implementation due to the condition of the COVID-19 pandemic,” she explained.

Under these conditions, UMY remains committed to working in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, which helped it succeed in achieving the MURI Record for the category of organizing international webinars with the most disciplines. The MURI Record Award was presented on Tuesday afternoon (13/10) to the UMY Rector, Dr. Gunawan Budiyanto, MP., IPM, in the opening ceremony of The 4th ICoSI in the AR Fachruddin B Building UMY. At the MURI award presentation procession, Sri Widayati, MURI Senior Manager, appreciated Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta for carrying out international webinars in the midst of a pandemic and hopes that this award will motivate the academic community to continue working. “We from MURI really appreciate this activity, and our hope is that this international webinar achievement will be able to encourage lecturers, especially from UMY, to continue to show their best initiative and work in their respective fields in order to ignite the spirit of national pride and be able to contribute to the ranking of the UMY campus both on a national and international scale,” she explained.

The MURI record at the 4th ICoSI 2020 was officially recorded as the record 9,673rd in Indonesia. The MURI Record Award is not the first for Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, as UMY has won at least 10 MURI records. Some of them are the creation of the most investors, wearing batik on the highest mountain peak, making the largest series of red ribbons, creating the most mutual fund investors, most number of log ins in the investor capital market applications, and most number of modern mosque designs by students.
