Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) had a meeting with staffs of a printed medium, Kedaulatan Rakyat Jogja on Thursday (24/5). The meeting aimed to discuss preparation on Indonesia Robot Contest (KRI) which will be conducted at 10-13 July 2018 at Sportorium of UMY.

A committee of the KRI 2018 Slamet Riyadi ST., M.Sc., Ph.D. informed that UMY is secondly believed to host the national contest. “The KRI is an annual prestigious event in Indonesia that the participants are students from various universities. Thus, the committee thinks that massive publication on printed media prior to and during the contest. We would like to collaborate with Kedaulatan Rakyat to promote the contest so that public, particularly students in Yogyakarta, knows it.

Slamet told that there are five contest categories. “They are Indonesia ABU Robot Contest (KRAI), Indonesia Firefighting Robot Contest (KRPAI), Indonesia Soccer Robot Contest (KRSBI) for Wheeled Division (KRSBI), and Indonesia Soccer Robot Contest (KRSBI) for Humanoid Division, and Indonesia Dance Robot Contest (KRSTI). Besides, the number of spectators are predicted to reach 2,500 people,” he stated.

Meanwhile, Promotion Manager of Kedaulatan Rakyat Group welcomed UMY and the KRI 2018. “The national event should promoted through a press conference, advertorial, and press release. On the advertorial, we have to mention all the contest schedule so that public will recognize it. The KRI promotion should be carried out massively and invite public to enliven the contest. We hope that the preparation and D-Day of the KRI can run well so that public can take advantages from the contest,” he declared.
