Preparation of KRI 2018 Has Reached 90 Percent

Four days before Indonesia Robot Contest (KRI) 2018, a lot of preparation have been carried out by the Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) as the host. To conduct the contest on 10-13 July 2018, UMY collaborates with Directorate General of Higher Education (Dikti) of the Republic of Indonesia (RI). This sophisticated smart robot contest is participated by 91 teams from 48 universities in Indonesia, which have previously won the Regional KRI 2018.

Vice Chairman of the KRI committee Slamet Riyadi, M.Sc., Ph.D. stated that currently all preparation has reached 90 percent, and we are just waiting for the D-Day. Technically there are no obstacles in preparing for the KRI 2018 because we have experienced to be a host of several events. From the experiences, we commit to continue to provide our best services to the committee, participants and  audiences since we hope everyone to enjoy the game,” told Slamet in an interview on Friday (6/7).

Slamet added that both the committee team from Dikti and the jury have checked a contest venue, from the construction and setting of an arena of each contest. “We have prepared everything, especially in terms of arena thickness, width and other equipments.  Each arena is equipped with a camera, an arena technician, and a person in charge. We also prepare Liaison Officers (LOs) to be a mediator between the participants and the committee,“ he mentioned.

Additionally, the KRI 2018 comprises of five contest categories, namely Indonesia ABU (Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union) Robot Contest (KRAI), Indonesia Fire-Fighting Robot Contest (KRPAI), Indonesia Soccer Robot Contest (KRSBI) for the Humanoid Division, Indonesia Soccer Robot Contest (KRSBI) for the Wheeled Division, and Indonesia Dance Robot Contest (KRSTI). “The contest will be watched by approximately 2500 spectators from various regions. Thus, we expect that public, students, and lecturers participate in enlivening the KRI 2018 because it is one of the most prestigious contest in Indonesia presenting robots by Indonesian students,” he maintained.
