FEB of UMY Accepts USIM Students to Have a Transfer Credit Program

 

Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) cooperates with Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) to carry out a transfer credit program. In an interview on Wednesday (11/10), Dean of FEB of UMY Dr. Rizal Yaya, S.E., M.Sc., Ak, CA stated that the program aims to embody one of UMY’s goals, to be a reputable international university.

“Five students of FEB of UMY joined the program at USIM when it was firstly conducted. In this second year, six students of FEB of UMY are performing the program at UMY while four USIM students has been carrying out the program at UMY since September. This program runs for one semester,” informed Dr. Rizal Yaya.

He also told the students had to pass selection processes to join the program. “First, they were selected in the department level. Next, they had a selection process in the faculty level. We interviewed the students,” said Dr. Rizal Yaya.

He asserted that there is a high possibility to expand the cooperation with the same program with various universities in Thailand and other reputable universities. Indeed, he expected that students possess high enthusiasm about the program since it is a tremendous occasion for them.

Moreover, in another interview on Friday, the four USIM students, namely Ahmad Irfan Fitri Bin Mohd Hussin, Muhammad Haris Naqiuddin Bin Mude, Salmi Salwana Binti Selamat, and Nurul Wahda Binti Mohammad Rose told that they are glad to have a student exchange program at UMY. They are students of Department of Mualamat and Administration at USIM and they study at Department of Management of UMY.

“We could not choose a university at where we would carry out the transfer credit program. The faculty informed us the program and it is UMY. Even though this is our first visit to UMY, we believe that this university is good to run this program,” expresses Ahmad Irfan Fitri Bin Mohd Hussin.

Muhammad Haris Naqiuddin Bin Mude inserted, “I agree with Ahmad Irfan Fitri Bin Mohd Hussin. We are happy to study here. This university has exciting learning atmosphere, the students are kind, and the learning competition is high.”
