Commemorating UMY’s 35th anniversary, Student Executive Board of Engineering Faculty (BEM KMFT) of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) conducted a blood donation (26/4) at lobby of Engineering Faculty of UMY.
Chief of the blood donation, Andika Drajad Tri Kurniwan Putra stated the blood donation is one of the event series of ‘Semarak Teknik 2016’ (Engineering Week 2016). “The event aims at enhancing students’ social awareness,” he told.
Collaborating with Indonesian Red Cross (PMI), there were hundreds of UMY’s students participating in the blood donation. “Alhamdulillah, students’ enthusiasm is quite high. There are 100 students registering to donor even though it just opened for an hour,” Andika informed.
All the participants should pass several checks to donate their blood. “They should be minimum 50-kilogram weight, above 17 years old, and 110/70 mmHg of diastolic blood pressure, 160/100 mmHg of systolic blood pressure, and no consuming of drugs for these recent five days,” he mentioned.
