Tests

Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) conducts two tests:

  • Paper Based Test (PBT)
  • Computer Based Test (CBT)

Paper Based Test (PBT)

Paper Based Test (PBT) refers to a written test and is organized in four periods. Applicants may choose two departments, and may take the PBT maximum four times. UMY opens the admissions for only 2.000 applicants each period.

How to Apply

  1. Applicants must submit a duly accomplished application form.
  2. Entry requirements:
  • Submit nonrefundable IDR 300,000 for Natural Sciences/Social Sciences or IDR 350,000 for both sciences.
  • Submit certified copy of high school rapport or high school certificate.
  • Attach two 3 x 4 cm black and white photographs.
  1. Applicants must take the CBT.
  2. Applicants must wait for the CBT result.

Computer Based Test (CBT)

Computer Based Test (CBT) is a one-day service test conducted at Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. After submitting the registration requirements, applicants must directly take the CBT and they will get the result afterwards. The applicants may choose two departments, and may take the CBT maximum three times. Student admissions through the CBT will be closed if the quota has been fulfilled.

How to Apply

  1. Applicants must submit a duly accomplished application form.
  2. Entry requirements:
  • Submit nonrefundable IDR 300,000 for Natural Sciences/Social Sciences or IDR 350,000 for both sciences.
  • Submit certified copy of high school rapport or high school certificate.
  • Attach two 3 x 4 cm black and white photographs.
  1. Applicants must take the PBT as scheduled.

General Entry Requirements (PBT and CBT):

  1. Applicants may choose two departments included in Natural Sciences (IPA), Social Sciences, or both Sciences (IPC).
  2. Only applicants of natural sciences may apply for Medical Department and Dentistry Department.
  3. Only applicants of natural sciences and pharmacy school students may apply for Department of Pharmacy.
  4. Applicants of Department of Nursing should be 155 cm tall for male and 150 cm for female.
  5. Only applicants of natural sciences and exact science schools may apply for Department of Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Agrotechnology.
  6. Only applicants of natural sciences and exact science schools may apply for Program of Electromedical Engineering.

Non-Test

PMDK (Penerimaan Berdasar Minat dan Kemampuan)

PMDK is for high school students of Grade XII who will graduate in 2017 and who possess interests in and capability of a certain field. They are selected based on academic achievements from grade X to XII (from semester 1 to semester 5) with minimum average grade of 7.0.

Entry Requirements:

  1. Applicants must submit a duly accomplished application form.
  2. Required documents:
  • Certified copy of high school rapport from grade X to XII (Semester 1-5).
  • Certified copy of a national examination result (for Medical and Health Science Faculty applicants).
  • One 3 x 4 cm black and white photograph (attached to the application form).
  • Copied certificates of academic and non-academic achievements.

PSB (Penerimaan Siswa Berprestasi)

PSB is for high school students of Grade XII who will graduate in 2017 and who possess achievements in sports, arts, cultures, and academics (such as Olympiads, scientific writings, debates, and others). The achievements refer to being the winner or finalist of national, province and regency competitions.

Entry Requirements:

  1. Applicants must submit a duly accomplished application form.
  2. Required documents:
  • Certified copy of high school rapport from grade X to XII (Semester 1-5).
  • Certified copy of a national examination result (for Medical and Health Science Faculty applicants).
  • One 3 x 4 cm black and white photograph (attached to the application form).
  • Copied certificates of non-academic achievements.

PBUP (Penerimaan Bibit Unggul Persyarikatan)

PBUP is for high school students of Grade XII who will graduate in 2017 and who is actively in Muhammadiyah organization such as Muhammadiyah Student Association (IPM), Tapak Suci, and Hizbul Wathan (HW).

Entry Requirements:

  1. Applicants must submit a duly accomplished application form.
  2. Required documents:
  • Certified copy of high school rapport from grade X to XII (Semester 1-5).
  • Certified copy of a national examination result (for Medical and Health Science Faculty applicants).
  • One 3 x 4 cm black and white photograph (attached to the application form).
  • A copy of an organization card.
  • An official letter from organization head stating that the applicant is an active member.
  • A referee letter of a regional Muhammadiyah chairperson.

PNUAN (Penerimaan Berdasar Nilai UAN)

PNUN is for high school students of Grade XII who has taken a national exam in 2017 and possess an average grade of 7.0. For international programs, English grade must be a minimum of 7.5. This admission procedure is for all departments except Medical Department and Dentistry Department.

Entry Requirements:

  1. Applicant must be a high school graduate in 2016
  2. Applicants fill the application form.
  3. Required documents:
  • Certified copy of a national examination result.
  • Copied certificates of achievements (if available).
  • One 3 x 4 cm black and white photograph (attached to the application form).

General Entry Requirements (Outstanding Achievements):

  1. Applicants are high school students of Grade XII.
  2. Applicants may choose two departments included in Natural Sciences (IPA), Social Sciences, or both Sciences (IPC).
  3. Only applicants of natural sciences may apply for Medical Department and Dentistry Department.
  4. Only applicants of natural sciences and pharmacy school students may apply for Department of Pharmacy.

The student admissions are free. Documents can be directly submitted to Student Admissions of UMY or can be sent via post (personally or collectively).
