16 Best Teams Go to a Round of 16 of KRAI

91 teams form various Indonesian universities were required to do their best on Day one of Indonesia Robot Contest (KRI) 2018 since the match results decided whether or not they could pass to the following round.

Chief of KRI juries Dr. Ir. Wahidin Wahab told that matches, particularly Indonesia ABU Robot Contest (KRAI), on day one were quite thrilling. “Today is preliminary rounds for all contest categories. Participants and their robots have given their best. At the KRAI, even though some teams confronted constraints during the match, other teams remained enthusiastic and optimistic to perform well,” stated Wahidin in an interview on Thursday (12/7) at Sportorium of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY).

Wahidin added that robots of several teams underwent decreasing and increasing of their performance. “For instance, robots of HEROES from Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) did not work well during a running test, but they were fine and worked normally during the match. It shows that, if a team can be solid and know their mistakes, they will attempt to upgrade their robots,” he emphasized.

“I think the toughest teams, based on the team’s preparation and robot performance, are Dagonfly from Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) and NANOPA from Universitas Tadulako. However, we will see more excitement of the game on day two,” he said.

Wahidin also informed that 16 of 24 teams at the KRAI passed to the following round. “They are NANOPA from Universitas Tadulako, EURO NINO from Universitas Sam Ratulangi, MAESTRO_EVO from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), RENGGANIS from Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNES), HEROES from Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Bandhayuda from Universitas Dipenogoro (Undip), EII_TORO from Universitas Dian Nuswantoro, C-Dragold_MP from Politeknik Negeri Ujung Pandang, BAYMAX_PL from Politeknik Negeri Malang, Polyrobocom_01 from Politeknik Negeri Lhokseumawe, IRTONAS’64 from Politeknik Negeri Jember, EL-FORZA 18 from Politeknik Negeri Jakarta, Barelang from 5.8 Politeknik Negeri Batam, PLI-DENG 3 from Politeknik Manufaktur Negeri Bangka Belitung, RIVER from Intitut Teknologi Sepuluh November, and Dagonfly from Institut Teknologi Bandung
